The SAS and Snowflake partnership helps users save time, reduce risk and maximize their data without transferring between platforms.

By being able to access and run commercial software and apps directly in their Snowflake account, customers can seamlessly enhance the value of their data using cutting-edge tools without moving or compromising its security.

Cyera Secures $100 Million Series B Investment to Become the Data Security Platform Enabling the AI Revolution

Cyera Secures $100 Million Series B Investment to Become the Data Security Platform Enabling the AI Revolution

data security 28 Jun 2023

The AI-powered platform is solving fundamental data security and privacy challenges, helping enterprises prevent breaches and harness the power of data

Cyerathe data security company, today announced a $100 million Series B investment led by Accel with participation from existing investors Sequoia and Cyberstarts. Redpoint Ventures also joined as an investor. This brings the company's total funding to $160 million since emerging from stealth in March of 2022. In the past year, Cyera has gained significant traction among S&P 500 enterprises, growing revenue by 800%, as security teams prioritize data security across their hybrid cloud environments.

Data is the most important asset that a business has. The rush to adopt generative AI, like ChatGPT, is forcing enterprises to grapple with opposing forces of innovation, and security and privacy risks. As the news cycle highlights, those risks are real. Breaches, ransomware, and regulatory fines are a part of our daily lives. This has led governments, business leaders, and regulators to impose bans and stricter regulations in an effort to protect user privacy and intellectual property. Cyera provides the foundational capability to enable enterprises to harness the power of their data.

McKinsey highlights that rapidly accelerating technology advances, the recognized value of data, and increasing data literacy are changing what it means to be "data driven." The ability to leverage data for day-to-day activities improves decision making, and fosters better innovation, collaboration, and communication. With deep insight into the data they have, and the confidence that their data is secure, Cyera is enabling enterprises to leverage data to create truly differentiated customer and employee experiences.

Michael Kiethley, Chief Information Officer at United Talent Agency uses Cyera to foster innovation with data. He said, "Cyera's AI-powered data security platform is enabling us to infuse data literacy into our cloud development and security strategy." Arjun Thusu, Chief Information Officer at Mercury Financial said, "Cyera is accelerating our efforts to improve cyber resilience, and the deep context and unprecedented insight it provides into our data allows us to better align with business stakeholders and partners."

Enabling the business to leverage data while preventing breaches are top priorities for CxOs and boards across industries. However, data security has long relied on legacy architectures and outdated approaches that were developed to protect data on premises. Cyera has built an AI-powered data security platform that is revolutionizing data security for the cloud era. This new approach moves from a highly manual process of matching patterns and blocking access, to harnessing artificial intelligence and machine learning to automatically learn and holistically protect a company's unique data.

"Cyera's vision is to enable every business to realize the full potential of their data using AI — collaboration, connection with customers, insights that fuel innovation — to power a new era of development, growth, and productivity. This investment confirms that Cyera is on the right path to help CISOs meet their most pressing challenge — securing their data in the cloud era," said Yotam Segev, Cyera Co-Founder and CEO.

Cyera's AI-powered data security platform instantly learns an enterprise's unique data and its business purpose, empowering security teams to understand the data they have, how it is used, and apply the correct controls to secure it. Cyera provides holistic data security across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments. With Cyera, security teams always understand where their data is, who can access it, how it is secured and managed, and the exposures that increase their risk across domains and platforms. Cyera then automates remediation workflows to reduce the attack surface and ensure operational resilience at the speed and scale of the cloud.

Cyera's platform uses large language models to automatically discover, classify, and secure sensitive data, everywhere. The platform's unified policy engine identifies misconfigurations, recommends specific access controls, and generates new policies for data security, to assure compliance, and to govern sensitive data access. With the additional capital from this raise, Cyera will accelerate the development of its cloud-native operational platform, empowering security teams to manage all of their data security incidents, policies, controls and workflows across the data landscape.

"Cyera far exceeds the capabilities of other vendors in this space, already capitalizing on technologies like generative AI and natural language processing," said Philippe Botteri, Accel. "This team is an innovation powerhouse adept at building impactful technology that protects critical data assets and is well aligned with its customers to address the data security issues that keep CISOs up at night."

Cyera has been recognized for its innovative approach to data security winning a number of industry awards including the 2022 CISO Choice Award for Data Security, Best Enterprise Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Solution, and 2023 Data Security Platform of the Year. This new investment will enable Cyera to accelerate the development of its data security platform and global go-to-market initiatives.

Kubit Builds Product Analytics Platform on Snowflake

Kubit Builds Product Analytics Platform on Snowflake

technology 28 Jun 2023

Kubit, a product analytics company, today announced at Snowflake's annual user conference, Snowflake Summit 2023, the launch of its Product Analytics Platform, Powered by Snowflake. The new platform will enable customers to take their product analytics to a new level, fully leveraging all the advantages of the Snowflake Data Cloud architecture and speed.

With Kubit, customers are able to utilize the data models they've built with the product data that's already stored in the Snowflake Data Cloud. There's no data movement or replication, which helps maintain a Single Source of Truth and the high security and governance standards inherent in the Data Cloud. Most importantly, Kubit places no restrictions on the volume and scale of product data that's ingested and modeled–a key differentiator in a world where enterprises are often ingesting millions, billions, or even trillions of events each day.

Kubit allows you to say goodbye to traditional "blackbox" product analytics workflows, which are often plagued by incomplete events and inaccurate data, and can't scale with user growth. By building its platform on Snowflake, Kubit enables its customers' product and data teams to get easy, self-service access to a full customer-360 view–leading to richer exploratory analyses, better-informed insights, and more powerful data-driven decisions.

"Kubit has been instrumental in addressing our unique use cases with an impressive level of flexibility," according to Firework's Head of Product for Commerce, Jin Chen. "Kubit's commitment to adapt their tool to our specific needs has been elevating our productivity and decision-making," Chen said.

Founded in 2018 by CEO Alex Li, last year Kubit announced that it had raised an $18-million Series A round led by Insight Partners. Kubit is also a Select tier partner in the Snowflake Partner Network program.

Li built Kubit out of his own frustrations with existing product analytics platforms, when he was the CTO at Smule. He was determined to create a solution that offered more control and transparency to end users and that took advantage of the latest developments in cloud technology. Li says he's particularly proud of how Kubit is helping build bridges between product and data teams, with an extensible platform that makes it easy to extend on initial product insights with SQL, Jupyter, or machine learning.

Artefact and Treasure Data collaboration delivers results

Artefact and Treasure Data have already collaborated on more than 20 global accounts, enabling successful digital transformation projects across a variety of industries. CDP ROI can be illustrated by various Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), which usually support larger digital transformation programs within organizations. Among the most impactful are:

  • Optimization of client acquisition strategies as a result of the reconciliation of online and offline profiles in a single customer view. The enriched insights enable the personalization of marketing communications from the initial prospecting phase.
  • Media budget savings through audience suppression applications, such as excluding existing clients and hot prospects from branding media and paid search campaigns, as well as managing the frequency of cross-channel marketing messages.
  • Conversion rate uplift through the automated setup of targeted customer journeys (basket abandonment retargeting, inactive prospects revival, and website personalization, for example).

Artefact and Treasure Data at Nestlé

Multinational food and beverage brand Nestlé has benefited from the collaboration, which helped it streamline customer data across its businesses and use it to generate insights for its operations.

The disruption of consumption habits, as a result of the pandemic, drove the requirement for a CDP at Nestlé. The company needed to expand and improve its customer database in Brazil and manage its data to handle the sudden increase in e-commerce sales.

Working with Artefact and Treasure Data, Nestlé Brazil began to see the desired results. The company implemented the Treasure Data Customer Data Cloud with Artefact in under three months, delivering seven applications focused on advanced customer segmentation, marketing orchestration and data-driven measurement and optimization.

"Thanks to the dedication of the Treasure Data, Artefact, and internal Nestlé teams, we implemented our pilot CDP applications in just 92 days," explained Patricia Kristman, data and analytics manager at Nestlé Brazil. "This achievement allowed us to reach everyone in our database for the first time - a count of more than 9 million people – compared to 64,000 in our previous CRM campaign in the first pilot. We also saw a 140% increase in engagement with our consumers, and as a result of the data democratization enabled by the Treasure Data Customer Data Cloud, the tool's adoption by the team has jumped from five to 50 across the business, and it's growing every day."
