Instabug Expands Platform to Redefine Mobile App Performance

Instabug Expands Platform to Redefine Mobile App Performance

apps for business 13 Sep 2023

Instabug, the industry’s leading mobile platform, today announced its Fall 2023 product launch featuring a number of updates designed to improve app quality and action user feedback. Instabug's Fall 2023 product launch marks a significant milestone in mobile app development, reinforcing the company's commitment to providing mobile teams with the tools and insights needed to create extraordinary mobile experiences across the development lifecycle.

Debug User Feedback with App Ratings and Reviews

Instabug’s new App Ratings and Reviews product harnesses the power of user feedback, turning app store reviews into actionable insights for mobile teams. Recognizing the pivotal role of user reviews in app success, Instabug's new product consolidates qualitative reviews with app metrics, bridging the gap between engineering and product teams. By coupling app ratings and reviews with performance and stability metrics, engineering teams gain invaluable user perspectives, fostering empathy and guiding development efforts.

App Ratings and Reviews work seamlessly with Instabug’s new Session Replay product, allowing developers to visualize user sessions linked to reviews. This integration grants an in-depth understanding of user experiences and facilitates swift debugging of underlying issues.

Streamline Release Management with Rollout Management

In the quest for efficient release management, Instabug introduces Rollout Management, a solution that centralizes, monitors, and automates version releases. Seamlessly integrating with app stores, Rollout Management empowers teams to control version updates directly from the Instabug dashboard. The upcoming rollout automation features will enable scheduled staged releases and automatic pausing of updates that fall short of specified performance thresholds. No longer burdened by navigating multiple tools, mobile teams can now experience streamlined, data-driven release management, fostering confidence and success in app updates.

Gain Deeper Insights with Session Replay

Instabug Session Replay takes troubleshooting to a new level by offering visual replays of app user sessions. This invaluable product highlights stability and performance issues, helping mobile teams connect the dots between code and user experience by providing visual context. It also equips developers with comprehensive debugging details, including user interactions, network data, console logs, and breadcrumbs, empowering them to tackle even the most intricate bugs and performance glitches. Instabug Session Replay takes a privacy-first approach, ensuring sensitive data is masked on the user's device and only capturing approved non-sensitive data, striking a balance between debugging needs and user privacy.

"Mobile is critical to today’s digital landscape and Instabug is committed to empowering mobile teams—whether they are Quality Engineers, Mobile Developers or Product Managers—by providing them with a platform that reflects the reality of the mobile development lifecycle. Our expansion to include App Ratings and Reviews, Rollout Management, and Session Replay reflects that commitment,” notes Kenny Johnston, VP Product at Instabug. “This category-creating expansion will be the first of many that enable mobile teams to create exceptional app experiences and to connect more directly with their users, and to do so without the need to toil through tools and workflows that weren’t built with a mobile-first approach."

Flywheel Digital releases Customer Long-term Value solution based on Amazon Marketing Cloud

Flywheel Digital releases Customer Long-term Value solution based on Amazon Marketing Cloud

Flywheel Digital Dashboard Features Proprietary Model on Customer Long-term Value

Flywheel Digital, a leading digital commerce company for enterprise brands, announced today the release of a feature co-developed with Amazon Ads that helps brands develop insights about Customer Long Term Value (CLTV) utilizing insights from Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC).

Measuring CLTV long sought after for brands selling on large retailers, had been technically difficult. Flywheel Digital recognized the capability of AMC in enabling advanced use cases and collaborated with solution architects and data scientists at Amazon Ads to build a systematic CLTV solution using AMC.

The result of this collaboration is new functionality through the Flywheel Digital dashboard. This solution utilizes custom queries and the proprietary model Flywheel Digital built on AMC, allowing brands to dive into CLTV for their portfolio. Brands can do this at a quick glance, rather than building complex SQL queries and performing manual analyses with the raw datasets. They can now quantify the insights unique to them including locating the highest-performing products. This also allows brands to look over a wider horizon and determine high-value audience segments that can be reached in a privacy-safe manner via AMC Audiences. This advancement allows brands to drive custom longer-term insights and then create custom segmentation of audiences to scale their business.

“Amazon Marketing Cloud helps give Flywheel clients more visibility into their audiences’ shopping patterns and their path to purchase than they were able to ever before,” said Patrick Miller, Co-Founder of Flywheel Digital. “This proprietary CLTV solution co-developed with Amazon Ads helps expand the brands’ understanding of their media strategies including sponsored ads uses, Amazon DSP investments, and product selection to maximize downstream sales. This in-depth strategic view will not be possible without utilizing the signals and flexibility allowed by AMC.”

Beyond CLTV, Flywheel Digital is continuing to provide advanced measurement for their clients through the use of metrics derived from Amazon Marketing Cloud. The company has developed proprietary customer cohort analyses, which allow brands and manufacturers to view the purchase patterns of their customers more holistically.

United States Patent and Trademark Office Takes Innovative Approach to Machine Identity Management With Venafi

Government Agency Automates Digital Certificate Management to Reduce Complexity and Prevent Security Incidents

Venafi, the inventor of machine identity management, today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has implemented Venafi’s TLS Protect solution to automate the entire lifecycle of digital certificates and other machine identities to meet cybersecurity requirements.

In March 2023, the White House released its National Cybersecurity Strategy to strengthen cybersecurity for the nation and better defend against increasingly malicious cyber threats. At the core of securing modern applications are machine identities such as digital certificates and keys, which protect the information that flows from machines to machines – much like usernames and passwords protect human identities. Compromised machine identities can have a significant security impact on organizations, and effective machine identity management is critical to preventing security incidents and application outages.

“At the USPTO, we receive more than 600,000 patent and trademark applications annually. To keep up with the innovation that comes through our doors every day, we bake technical innovation into everything we do – from machine learning and AI to machine identity management – to improve the efficiency, performance and security of our operations,” said Jamie Holcombe, Chief Information Officer at the USPTO. “Implementing Venafi into our software infrastructure enables us to better manage and secure all the machine identities across our organization and fulfill one of the five pillars of the National Cybersecurity Strategy.”

The USPTO’s Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) team historically managed the certificate process manually, which was time-consuming with many steps and created potential pitfalls and barriers throughout the process. Venafi’s platform allows the team to automate the entire machine identity management process across more than 10,000 machines, streamlining digital certificate issuance – including better certificate organization and customized alerting – and reducing the risk of private key theft through shorter key lifespans. Since implementing Venafi, the USPTO has significantly cut down the certificate process time from 10 hours to 30 minutes.

“Today, organizations not only need to be vigilant when it comes to security, but they must also take proactive measures to protect themselves and their customers,” said Jeff Hudson, Chief Executive Officer at Venafi. “What’s more, amid federal directives and guidance related to hardening public sector cybersecurity posture, security has never been more important for this industry. Identity is the foundation of security, and with the growth in both variance and volume of machines, effective management of the identities of these machines is critical for security. With Venafi, the leader and inventor of machine identity management, the USPTO is making strides in innovation while ensuring bad actors aren’t taking advantage of machine identities.”
