SmarterX has launched Marketing AI Month, a September initiative giving marketers free access to its AI for Marketing Course Series as organizations increasingly move from experimenting with generative AI toward integrating it into everyday marketing workflows.
Through September 30, marketers can access the five-course program through SmarterX’s AI Academy. The self-paced series provides approximately 3.5 hours of learning and covers AI fundamentals, marketing use cases, tool evaluation, prompting, custom AI assistants, multimodal AI and research workflows.
The initiative comes as AI adoption becomes increasingly embedded in marketing technology strategies. Salesforce’s latest State of Marketing research, based on nearly 5,000 marketers worldwide, identifies AI investment and implementation as a major focus for marketing organizations, while also highlighting challenges around data and execution.
The competitive landscape for marketing AI is expanding beyond software vendors into education, enablement and workforce transformation. Platforms such as Salesforce, Adobe and HubSpot are incorporating AI capabilities directly into marketing and customer platforms, but organizations still face the challenge of helping employees understand when and how to apply those capabilities.
That creates an emerging market for structured AI education. Rather than focusing solely on individual tools, SmarterX’s course series is organized around identifying marketing use cases, evaluating technology options and developing practical adoption plans. The program also addresses generative AI, prompting and custom AI assistants.
SmarterX’s approach reflects a broader shift from AI awareness to operational literacy. The objective is not simply to teach marketers how to interact with generative AI, but to connect AI capabilities with specific tasks and business priorities.
Participants are expected to build a prioritized inventory of AI use cases and develop a 30-day action plan. Completing the full program also qualifies learners for an AI for Marketing Professional Certificate.
The initiative concludes with a live AMA on October 1 featuring SmarterX executives and AI marketing educators Paul Roetzer, Mike Kaput and Cathy McPhillips.
For marketing leaders, the more significant question is likely to be how education translates into measurable workflow changes. As AI becomes embedded across content, research, strategy and campaign operations, training programs will increasingly compete on practical application rather than basic technology awareness.
