Real Chemistry Launches MaestroHCP for AI-Powered Pharma Marketing Orchestration

Pharmaceutical marketers have spent years building increasingly sophisticated audience data and next-best-action systems, but turning those insights into compliant, coordinated execution across channels remains difficult. Real Chemistry is attempting to close that gap with MaestroHCP, an enterprise omnichannel orchestration platform that combines HCP intelligence, AI-driven decisioning, approved content, channel rules and performance measurement in a single workflow.

MaestroHCP represents a broader shift in healthcare marketing technology: from systems that recommend what marketers should do next to platforms that can help plan, activate, optimize and measure the resulting customer journey.

The platform is designed specifically for pharmaceutical marketing, where personalization has to operate within restrictions around eligible audiences, approved claims and content, available channels, pricing and regulatory requirements. Real Chemistry says marketers can establish guardrails that constrain the platform's adaptive automation to approved assets, audiences and channels.

At the HCP level, MaestroHCP uses engagement signals and AI models to recommend a message, channel and timing for individual physicians. It also connects those recommendations to investment decisioning, allowing marketers to evaluate channel mix and spending based on performance and engagement data rather than relying solely on fixed brand or audience-segment allocations.

That distinction matters.

Traditional next-best-action systems can identify an action, but the surrounding activation process may still require marketers to translate the recommendation into a sequence of channels, messages and operational rules. Real Chemistry developed MaestroHCP to address that execution layer. Elizabeth Beringer, president of Real Chemistry Media, told Fierce Pharma that the platform grew partly from the limitations the company saw in existing next-best-action approaches, particularly when translating recommendations into non-personal promotional journeys.

The technology was developed with the Professional Services team at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and incorporates Amazon SageMaker. Real Chemistry says MaestroHCP can analyze more than 600 signals for each HCP and generate millions of ranked recommendations. Customers can also use their own AI models within the platform, according to Beringer's comments to Fierce Pharma.

The AWS relationship is significant because Real Chemistry had already positioned its broader media business around proprietary AI-powered omnichannel orchestration. In June, the company said its unified Real Chemistry Media practice was expanding an orchestration engine through AWS cloud and AI services, including SageMaker. MaestroHCP therefore appears to be the commercialization of that larger technology strategy rather than an isolated product launch.

Real Chemistry reports that an early pilot produced up to 57% higher engagement rates than traditional approaches and showed early indications of up to 2.5x greater adoption of additional approved indications. Those figures come from the company's pilot and should be viewed as preliminary results; Real Chemistry itself notes that outcomes can vary by brand, indication and use case.

Competitive pressure is likely to come from several directions, including healthcare-focused omnichannel platforms, pharmaceutical CRM and next-best-action systems, customer data platforms and broader enterprise marketing clouds from companies such as Salesforce and Adobe.

Real Chemistry's differentiation is its attempt to combine decisioning, activation, investment allocation and measurement with pharma-specific governance. That vertical specialization could be important in an industry where a generic AI marketing platform cannot simply be given unrestricted control over audience selection and content activation.

The bigger question is whether MaestroHCP can demonstrate that automated orchestration produces incremental commercial outcomes while maintaining the transparency and governance pharmaceutical organizations require. If it can, the platform could push healthcare marketing further away from channel-by-channel optimization and toward continuous, HCP-level revenue and engagement decisioning.

Market Landscape

Healthcare marketing is moving toward increasingly connected data, media and decisioning systems. Real Chemistry's June restructuring of its media operation brought its legacy media business together with Spring & Bond and Greater Than One, creating a unified practice with approximately 450 media specialists and more than 150 data and analytics professionals.

MaestroHCP extends that consolidation into software. Instead of treating audience intelligence, media activation and measurement as separate workflows, the platform attempts to create a continuous loop between them.

That approach also reflects a wider enterprise MarTech trend: AI is increasingly being embedded into decisioning and resource allocation, rather than being limited to content generation or campaign assistance.

Strategic Outlook

The most consequential part of MaestroHCP may ultimately be its investment-decisioning layer.

If performance, spend, engagement and audience signals can be evaluated continuously at the HCP level, pharmaceutical marketers could potentially shift budgets and channel strategies more dynamically. But that requires reliable data, explainable recommendations and strong governance.

Real Chemistry's decision to combine automated intelligence with marketer-defined guardrails is therefore strategically important. In regulated marketing, the winning AI platform is unlikely to be the one that automates the most. It will be the one that automates enough to improve speed and precision while keeping humans in control of consequential decisions.
