Consensus Unifies AI Demos and Buyer Signals in New GTM Platform

Consensus has introduced a unified platform connecting self-guided product exploration, AI-powered buyer conversations, live demonstrations and demo intelligence, repositioning product demos as an ongoing part of the B2B buying journey rather than a single sales meeting. Announced at DemoFest London, the strategy follows the company's acquisitions of Peel and Saleo and introduces a new brand focused on connecting buyer engagement with sales intelligence.

Consensus shifts product demos beyond scheduled sales meetings

B2B software buyers increasingly research products independently, consult generative AI and involve multiple stakeholders before speaking with sales teams. That shift is creating pressure on go-to-market (GTM) organizations to make product information accessible earlier while ensuring sales representatives have meaningful context when direct engagement begins.

Consensus is responding by bringing multiple demo and buyer-engagement capabilities into one platform. Its approach connects self-guided experiences, AI-powered conversations, autonomous demos, personalized live demonstrations and analytics intended to help revenue teams understand buyer interests.

The strategic change is significant for software vendors that have traditionally treated demonstrations as isolated presales activities. Under the new model, product exploration can begin before a sales representative enters the process, while interactions across the journey can inform subsequent engagement.

Consensus cites Gartner research indicating that 67% of B2B buyers prefer a rep-free buying experience, while 69% want to validate AI-generated insights with a sales representative. Together, those findings point to a hybrid buying process: buyers want greater independence, but human expertise remains important for evaluation and validation.

AI connects self-service exploration with sales engagement

The platform combines several capabilities designed to support different stages of that process.

Self-guided product experiences allow prospects to explore software without arranging a meeting. AI-powered conversations answer questions on demand, educate buyers and capture signals that can help sales teams prioritize follow-up. Consensus says qualified prospects can be handed to sellers with interaction context preserved.

Its AI Demo Agent is designed to let buyers navigate autonomous demonstrations, while the Sales Agent generates personalized demo data inside the native product environment. According to the company, these capabilities aim to reduce manual preparation and make demonstrations more relevant to individual use cases.

Demo Intelligence connects engagement signals across these experiences. The goal is to help revenue teams understand who is involved in a buying group, which product capabilities attract attention and when a deal may be progressing.

The company is also connecting this intelligence to existing enterprise workflows. Its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server is designed to pass buyer signals to AI assistants and agents, including Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Salesforce Agentforce, while drawing context from systems such as Salesforce, HubSpot and Gong.

The practical value will depend on how reliably these integrations preserve context, respect access controls and turn engagement signals into useful next steps.

Acquisitions support a broader product strategy

The launch follows Consensus' acquisition activity involving Peel and Saleo, announced in April and June, respectively, according to the company. The combined strategy positions Consensus beyond its original demo-automation focus, toward a broader layer connecting product experiences with GTM intelligence.

Consensus says it serves 60% of the world's largest software companies and identifies Oracle, Atlassian, Salesforce and SAP among its customers. It also cites G2 rankings in demo automation and agentic GTM platforms. These are company-reported credentials, rather than independent measures of platform performance.

The new brand reflects that wider ambition: linking buyer-facing experiences with the data and workflows used by marketing, sales and presales teams.

Market Landscape

The demo automation market is expanding toward a broader category that combines interactive product experiences, conversational AI, presales enablement and buyer-intent analytics. Consensus' positioning places it at the intersection of sales technology, revenue operations and agentic GTM software.

Its competitive challenge is not simply to automate more demonstrations. It is to show that connecting self-service engagement with live selling creates better outcomes than using separate tools for product tours, conversational AI, demo environments and sales analytics.

For enterprise buyers, key evaluation criteria will include demo accuracy, integration with CRM and revenue platforms, data governance, personalization quality and the ability to distinguish genuine purchase intent from casual product exploration. AI-generated demos will also need to represent product functionality accurately and consistently.

Strategic Outlook

Consensus is betting that the next generation of B2B selling will combine buyer-controlled discovery with AI-assisted guidance and human-led validation. This could reduce repetitive presales work and help sales teams engage prospects with more relevant information.

However, a unified platform does not automatically produce a unified buying journey. Businesses will need to assess whether buyer signals remain consistent across touchpoints, whether AI-generated responses stay grounded in approved product information and whether integrations work reliably across their existing GTM stack.

The clearest test will be measurable business impact: reduced demo preparation time, stronger engagement, faster qualification, improved conversion rates and better visibility into buying-group activity. As agentic GTM tools mature, vendors will need to demonstrate not only automation but also control, accuracy and measurable contribution to revenue.
