As AI-generated answers become another route through which customers research companies and brands, traditional SEO metrics are no longer sufficient to explain digital visibility. PR Newswire is expanding that measurement layer with a new AEO & GEO Brand Report for its Amplify platform in Asia Pacific, giving PR, marketing and investor relations teams a way to monitor how AI systems mention, source and describe their brands.

PR Newswire introduced the AEO & GEO Brand Report on September 28, adding AI-search visibility intelligence to its PR Newswire Amplify communications platform in APAC. The capability is designed to show organizations how their brands appear within AI-generated answers and which sources influence those responses.

The launch reflects a growing change in the role of search data for communications teams. Instead of measuring visibility primarily through rankings, clicks and media pickup, companies increasingly need to understand what happens when customers ask conversational AI systems questions about their brands, products or industries.

PR Newswire's report divides that visibility into three areas: Mentions, Sources and Answers. Mentions include measures such as share of voice, ranking position, model-specific visibility and changes over time. Sources identify the domains and URLs contributing to AI-generated answers, while Answers provide the actual responses generated around tracked brand questions.

The distinction is important because an AI answer can influence brand perception without producing a conventional website visit. A communications team may therefore need to understand not only whether a brand appears, but also how it is described, which competitors appear alongside it and which third-party sources are shaping the response.

The technology behind the report comes from Trajaan, the search intelligence company acquired by Cision in December 2025. Cision said the acquisition was intended to combine traditional, social, shopping and generative-AI search intelligence across its portfolio, including PR Newswire.

Cision has subsequently incorporated Trajaan-powered AI visibility capabilities into CisionOne. Its current platform tracks how brands appear across leading AI platforms, monitors share of voice and identifies the journalists, outlets and domains influencing AI-generated answers.

PR Newswire is now bringing a similar intelligence layer directly into its Amplify workflow. The integration is designed to connect visibility measurement with distribution: users can identify an AI-search gap and then use PR Newswire's Multichannel Amplification capabilities as part of the same workflow.

Matt Brown, president of PR Newswire, described the change as an opportunity for communications teams to understand and influence how AI models position brands.

The company's broader proposition is that earned media and distributed content can contribute to the information environment from which AI systems construct answers. That does not mean a press release guarantees an AI citation, however. AI models use multiple sources, and visibility can vary by platform, query, geography and time.

The APAC launch also extends a product that has already been rolled out in other markets. PR Newswire launched Amplify in Asia Pacific in June 2026, bringing campaign planning, content creation, distribution and performance analysis into a unified platform.

Market Landscape

The emergence of AEO and GEO measurement reflects a broader transition from search ranking visibility to answer visibility.

Traditional SEO tools typically measure rankings, impressions, clicks, backlinks and organic traffic. AI-search intelligence introduces a different set of questions: Is the brand mentioned? Which sources are cited? How is the company described? Which competitors appear in the same answer? And does the answer change across different AI models?

Cision's Trajaan technology currently spans generative AI, social, shopping and traditional search environments across more than 150 countries, illustrating how search intelligence is expanding beyond conventional search-engine results.

For PR teams, this creates an increasingly direct connection between earned media and search intelligence. Media coverage, third-party references and other authoritative sources can become part of the information ecosystem that AI systems use when generating answers.

But measurement remains an evolving discipline. An AI visibility metric is not automatically equivalent to a lead, sale or reputation improvement. Communications teams still need to connect visibility data with audience engagement, brand perception and business outcomes.

Strategic Outlook

PR Newswire's launch suggests that AI visibility is moving from an emerging SEO concept into a measurable communications workflow.

The more significant change may be organizational rather than technical. PR, SEO, content marketing and investor relations teams have traditionally worked with different datasets and objectives. AI-generated search answers increasingly bring those disciplines closer together because brand representation depends on the combined information available across websites, media coverage, social channels and other external sources.

For enterprise marketers, the value of AEO and GEO reporting will therefore depend on whether these measurements can move beyond dashboards and inform concrete content, communications and distribution decisions.

PR Newswire is betting that the next stage of PR measurement will not stop at where a story was published or how many people viewed it. It will also examine how AI systems interpret the narrative after the story enters the wider information ecosystem.

Top Insights

  • PR Newswire's AEO & GEO Brand Report adds AI-search visibility measurement to Amplify, targeting PR, marketing and investor relations teams across APAC.
  • Mentions, Sources and Answers provide three distinct views of AI visibility, from brand share of voice to the sources shaping generated responses.
  • Trajaan technology supplies the search intelligence behind the report following Cision's 2025 acquisition of the company.
  • AI visibility is becoming a communications metric, connecting earned media, content distribution and how large language models represent brands.
  • Measurement still requires business context, because AI mentions and citations do not automatically translate into traffic, leads, revenue or improved brand perception.
