Perform.AI Launches AI Commerce Operating System for Agentic E-Commerce

As AI agents increasingly influence how consumers discover products, compare offers and complete purchases, e-commerce companies face a new problem: optimizing not only for human shoppers, but also for the software making decisions on their behalf.

Perform.AI is responding with an expanded commerce platform that combines AI-driven product visibility, checkout, post-purchase operations, returns and logistics under one system. The company, formerly known as Parcel Perform, announced the launch and rebrand on September 22, 2026.

Perform.AI’s new AI Commerce Operating System is designed to manage the e-commerce journey from product discovery through delivery and returns. The platform combines AI Commerce Visibility, Checkout, Post-Purchase and Returns, with logistics and carrier operations supporting those workflows underneath.

At the center is what Perform.AI calls AI Decision Intelligence, which analyzes commerce and delivery data to recommend or execute operational decisions. The company says the system can identify delivery delays before customers contact support and select carriers based on both cost and the likelihood of meeting a promised delivery date.

That positioning reflects a broader change in digital commerce. AI shopping agents are beginning to act as intermediaries between consumers and retailers, shifting some product discovery and purchasing decisions away from conventional websites and search interfaces. Gartner describes agentic commerce as a move toward dynamic commerce flows powered by AI agents rather than exclusively human-directed interactions.

Perform.AI is consequently treating operational performance as part of a brand's AI visibility. Its AI Commerce Visibility product is designed to show merchants how AI systems describe and recommend their products, including information about delivery and returns. The company says the product-line-level approach is intended to provide more actionable information than monitoring brand mentions alone.

The platform also introduces an MCP connection for enterprise teams. Through the Model Context Protocol, marketing, logistics and customer service teams can access Perform.AI commerce data from compatible AI tools. MCP is an open protocol designed to standardize how applications provide context to large language models, allowing AI systems to connect with external data and tools.

This could make operational data more accessible to teams that increasingly work through AI interfaces. Instead of switching between logistics dashboards and customer-service systems, employees could query commerce information through supported AI applications.

Perform.AI says the platform processes more than 100 billion parcel updates annually, supports more than 1,100 carrier integrations and operates across more than 160 countries. These are company-reported figures rather than independently audited market measurements.

The competitive landscape is evolving quickly. Amazon, Shopify and other commerce platforms are developing their own approaches to AI-assisted and agentic shopping, while enterprise technology vendors are adding AI agents to customer experience, commerce and marketing stacks. Recent moves by Amazon and Shopify illustrate the strategic tension between controlling the shopping interface and enabling third-party AI agents to participate in transactions.

Perform.AI’s distinction is that it is attempting to connect AI discovery with the operational reality behind the purchase. For merchants, that means product visibility, delivery promises, post-purchase service and returns become interconnected inputs into how AI agents evaluate a brand.

Market Landscape

Agentic commerce is moving beyond AI-powered product recommendations toward systems capable of taking actions on behalf of consumers. Gartner has identified shopping agents and AI-enabled commerce as an emerging strategic area for retailers, while also highlighting the importance of data foundations and governance.

That creates a new optimization problem for e-commerce teams. Traditional SEO and paid acquisition focus heavily on attracting human shoppers. Agentic commerce introduces another layer in which product data, price, availability, delivery reliability and return policies can influence whether an AI system recommends a merchant.

Perform.AI is positioning its operating system around that emerging layer, connecting marketing visibility with fulfillment performance rather than treating them as separate functions.

Strategic Outlook

The rebrand from Parcel Perform to Perform.AI signals a shift from logistics software toward a broader commerce infrastructure proposition. Its success will depend on whether merchants see measurable value from connecting AI visibility with operational execution.

For enterprise marketing teams, the important development is that commerce performance itself may become part of AI marketing strategy. A campaign can generate demand, but an AI agent evaluating competing merchants can also consider whether the promised experience is consistently delivered.

That potentially brings marketing, commerce operations, logistics and customer service closer together inside the enterprise MarTech stack.
