Customer engagement platform OneSignal has introduced its vision for Autonomous Lifecycle Marketing (ALM), outlining a future where artificial intelligence manages much of the execution behind customer lifecycle campaigns while marketers retain strategic oversight. Alongside the announcement, the company has launched OneSignal AI and the OneSignal MCP Server in open beta, extending AI-powered campaign creation and automation capabilities to all OneSignal users.

The second launch, the OneSignal MCP Server, extends those capabilities beyond the company's own platform. Built on the emerging Model Context Protocol (MCP) with OAuth authentication, the server enables AI assistants—including ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Cursor—to securely interact with OneSignal accounts.

Model Context Protocol is an open standard designed to allow AI systems to securely connect with enterprise software and perform authenticated actions. Instead of simply answering questions, AI agents can retrieve business data, execute workflows, and coordinate multiple applications within a single conversation.

In practical terms, an AI assistant could retrieve customer behavioral data from a data warehouse, identify where users abandon onboarding, create a new audience segment inside OneSignal, generate campaign messaging, and schedule communications—all without requiring marketers to manually switch between multiple enterprise applications.
