Network Solutions is expanding its role from domain registration into a broader small-business technology platform, adding three free applications for selling products, running email campaigns and managing customer relationships.
The company’s new Checkout App, Email Marketing App and Customers App are included with a Network Solutions domain. The move gives entrepreneurs access to several core digital marketing and commerce capabilities without requiring them to assemble separate software tools.
For small businesses, the strategy addresses a familiar problem: establishing an online presence often means paying for and learning multiple platforms for websites, ecommerce, email marketing, CRM and social media. Network Solutions is attempting to consolidate some of those functions around the domain itself.
The Checkout App provides a no-code option for businesses that want to sell a product online without building a complete ecommerce website. That positions the tool as a lightweight alternative for entrepreneurs whose immediate requirement is accepting online sales rather than operating a full digital storefront.
The Email Marketing App adds campaign creation, distribution and performance tracking within the Network Solutions account. Email remains an important owned marketing channel for small businesses because it allows companies to communicate directly with customers without depending entirely on social platforms or paid advertising.
The third addition, Customers App, functions as an integrated CRM. Businesses can manage contacts and customers and use segmentation to create more targeted campaigns.
The new applications join existing free tools including Social App, Marketing Calendar App, Link in Bio, Coming Soon Page and Brand Shield. Taken together, the portfolio covers several stages of the small-business digital journey, from establishing a domain and brand identity to attracting prospects, engaging customers and generating revenue.
Network Solutions is competing in a market where the boundaries between domain registration, website building, marketing software and ecommerce are increasingly blurred.
Companies such as GoDaddy have already expanded well beyond domain names into websites, ecommerce, marketing and business services. Website platforms and commerce providers such as Wix and Shopify also compete for the same small-business technology budget.
Network Solutions' differentiator is packaging these additional capabilities around its domain offering, for entrepreneurs, that can reduce the number of vendors and subscriptions required to establish basic digital operations.
The trade-off is depth. A lightweight CRM or email application may be sufficient for a solopreneur, but businesses with more sophisticated segmentation, automation or ecommerce requirements are likely to need specialized platforms.
The expansion reflects a broader trend toward all-in-one small-business technology platforms. Entrepreneurs increasingly expect digital infrastructure to combine website management, marketing, customer data and commerce rather than forcing them to integrate numerous independent applications.
Network Solutions' approach also highlights the strategic value of the domain as an entry point into a broader business software relationship. Once a company manages its digital identity through a provider, adjacent services can become natural extensions of that relationship.
For enterprise MarTech vendors, the development reinforces the importance of simplicity at the small-business end of the market. Tools that reduce implementation time and technical complexity can be particularly valuable to businesses without dedicated marketing or IT teams.
