Mirakl is expanding its multichannel commerce capabilities with support for Walmart Marketplace, giving sellers a centralized way to manage product catalogs, offers, orders, pricing and inventory across connected marketplaces.
The integration is being introduced through Mirakl Channel Manager, the company's multichannel selling platform. The move comes as marketplace sellers increasingly operate across multiple digital storefronts and face the operational challenge of maintaining consistent product information, inventory and pricing across each channel.
For merchants, adding another marketplace can create additional technology and data-management requirements. Product catalogs may need to be reformatted for different marketplaces, inventory must be synchronized, and orders often flow through separate interfaces.
Mirakl's strategy is to make those processes available through a single management layer.
Walmart Marketplace is an important addition because of the retailer's growing role in U.S. ecommerce.
Walmart reported that its U.S. ecommerce sales increased 26% in fiscal 2025, demonstrating the continued expansion of its digital business. For sellers already operating on several marketplaces, the challenge is less about opening another storefront and more about managing another operational endpoint.
Mirakl Channel Manager is designed to connect a seller's existing Walmart store with other marketplace channels. The company says sellers can manage Walmart catalog data, offers, orders and product creation from the same platform.
That positioning places Mirakl in the increasingly competitive market for marketplace management and ecommerce operations software.
One of the most labor-intensive parts of marketplace expansion is product-data preparation.
Different marketplaces can require different categories, attributes, naming conventions and product information. Manually translating a catalog for each channel can become particularly difficult for merchants with large or frequently changing inventories.
Mirakl is addressing that problem through its Catalog Transformer, which uses AI-powered listing creation to transform existing product data into marketplace-compliant catalogs.
For Walmart sellers, the company says the system can automate category mapping, attribute matching and product-data transformation.
The practical value is less about generating marketing copy and more about reducing the amount of manual data restructuring required before a product can be listed.
That distinction is important as ecommerce platforms increasingly incorporate AI into catalog operations. The strongest use cases may be those that automate repetitive data-processing tasks while preserving merchant control over pricing, product information and compliance.
Managing inventory across marketplaces creates another operational challenge.
A product sold on one channel may remain available on another if inventory updates are delayed. The result can be overselling, canceled orders or inaccurate availability information.
Mirakl says its platform provides real-time pricing and inventory synchronization across connected channels. Centralizing those updates could reduce the need for sellers to make repeated manual changes across marketplace interfaces.
The broader trend is toward treating marketplace operations as a connected commerce infrastructure rather than a collection of independent storefronts.
For larger sellers, that can include marketplace management, order management, product information management, fulfillment and analytics. For smaller merchants, the primary benefit may be reducing the technical resources required to add new channels.
Mirakl also says its pre-built connectors can allow sellers to connect to additional Mirakl-powered marketplaces in days rather than months without dedicated development resources.
If that timeline holds across different marketplace configurations, it could address one of the most significant barriers to multichannel expansion: integration costs.
The marketplace model has expanded well beyond Amazon. Walmart, eBay, Target and specialist vertical marketplaces all compete for sellers and customers, while retailers increasingly operate their own third-party marketplace ecosystems.
This creates an integration problem for merchants. Every new channel potentially introduces another data format, API, order workflow and set of operational rules.
A centralized channel-management layer attempts to abstract some of that complexity.
Marketplace management is becoming a competitive category within ecommerce technology.
Mirakl competes indirectly and directly with marketplace and channel-management providers, ecommerce platforms and commerce-management software vendors. Products from companies such as ChannelEngine, Linnworks and Rithum also target merchants managing multiple marketplaces and retail channels.
The competitive distinction increasingly comes down to integrations, automation, data quality, inventory synchronization and the breadth of supported marketplaces.
Mirakl has an additional advantage in that its core business provides marketplace infrastructure to retailers and enterprises. Its Channel Manager can therefore be positioned as an extension of an ecosystem that includes Mirakl-powered marketplaces.
However, sellers will ultimately evaluate platforms based on reliability, marketplace coverage, implementation effort and the ability to prevent costly catalog or inventory errors.
The Walmart integration illustrates a broader direction in ecommerce technology: sellers want marketplace expansion without a proportional increase in operational complexity.
AI-powered catalog transformation could make that model more scalable, particularly for merchants with thousands of products and multiple marketplace requirements. But automation does not eliminate the need for data governance. Incorrect attributes, categories or product information can still create listing problems even when the transformation itself is automated.
The longer-term opportunity for platforms such as Mirakl is therefore to become the operational control layer between merchants and marketplaces.
As sellers diversify their digital distribution, the ability to synchronize product information, pricing, inventory and orders across channels could become less of an optional convenience and more of a core commerce requirement.
