marketing artificial intelligence

As AI systems increasingly mediate how consumers discover companies, products and services, traditional SEO is gaining a new layer of complexity: businesses now have to consider not only how search engines crawl their websites, but how AI systems interpret the information they contain.
Spanish digital marketing technology company Mediterranea Services is targeting that emerging challenge with the worldwide launch of IA SEO Monitor Premium, a WordPress-focused monitoring platform designed to track machine-readable website signals used in the company's broader AI-search optimization strategy.
The launch expands an ecosystem from Mediterranea Services built around three products: IA SEO Generator, IA SEO Monitor and IA Shop Connector. The company describes the products as covering three stages of AI readiness: preparing website information, monitoring its availability and connecting commerce data to AI systems and agents.
IA SEO Monitor Premium is designed to monitor files including llms.txt, metadata.json, sitemap-ia.xml, humans.txt and ai-plugin.json. It records their status and changes over time and adds an AI Visibility Score, a 0–100 metric intended to summarize the state of the monitored signals.
The platform also includes AI Snapshot, which creates a structured representation of the website's available signals at the time of analysis. The objective is less about measuring conventional rankings and more about giving businesses an operational view of the information they are making available to AI-oriented systems.
That distinction is increasingly relevant as search moves toward answer engines and AI-generated results. Gartner's 2026 research describes answer-engine visibility as an emerging area that marketing leaders need to evaluate as consumers increasingly use LLM-powered search for discovery and purchasing decisions.
Mediterranea Services' broader proposition starts with IA SEO Generator, a WordPress solution that creates additional machine-readable resources, including llms.txt, llms-full.txt, metadata.json and other files. IA SEO Monitor Premium is positioned as the monitoring layer, while IA Shop Connector extends the approach to WooCommerce.
For ecommerce businesses, IA Shop Connector uses WooCommerce as the source of product information such as variants, prices, offers, inventory and availability. It supports mechanisms including OpenAI Product Feed, Merchant Feed, UCP Discovery, UCP Catalog Search, UCP Catalog Lookup and WebMCP compatibility.
The competitive distinction is important. Conventional SEO platforms such as Semrush, Ahrefs and enterprise suites from Adobe and Salesforce increasingly provide tools for understanding search visibility and content performance. Newer answer-engine visibility platforms focus on monitoring whether brands appear in AI-generated answers. Mediterranea Services is taking a more technical approach by monitoring the machine-readable infrastructure that it believes sits upstream of AI discovery.
There is, however, an important caveat for marketers. The existence of an llms.txt file should not be treated as a guaranteed route into ChatGPT, Gemini or other AI systems. Ahrefs' analysis of 137,000 domains found that 97% of llms.txt files received no traffic from crawlers during its May 2026 study.
That makes monitoring potentially useful, but it also underscores the need to distinguish AI-readiness infrastructure from proven AI visibility. A website can be technically well structured without necessarily being cited or recommended by an answer engine.
For enterprise marketing teams, the more durable opportunity may therefore be the broader shift toward machine-readable digital infrastructure. As AI agents increasingly retrieve business, product and service information directly, keeping those underlying signals accurate and synchronized could become another operational responsibility alongside technical SEO, structured data and content governance.
The market is moving from traditional SEO toward a broader combination of SEO, AEO and GEO, as marketers try to understand visibility across search engines, answer engines and generative interfaces. Gartner published a 2026 blueprint specifically addressing the integration of SEO, AEO and GEO as AI-powered search changes information discovery.
But the technology remains immature. Independent 2026 research shows that llms.txt adoption is growing while actual AI-crawler usage remains limited. Ahrefs found only 19.5% of requests reaching monitored files came from named AI tools, and most files received no requests at all.
That creates a market in which monitoring and governance may initially be more valuable than promises of guaranteed AI rankings. Platforms that can connect technical signals with actual AI visibility, citations, recommendations and conversions will have a stronger proposition as the category develops.
IA SEO Monitor Premium is entering an emerging category rather than an established SEO market. Its strongest opportunity is to make AI-readiness an ongoing operational process rather than a one-time technical implementation.
For WordPress and WooCommerce businesses, that could mean treating machine-readable information, product feeds and AI-agent connectivity as part of the digital marketing stack. The bigger question is whether AI systems ultimately use the signals being monitored at meaningful scale.
