BlueCat Networks, a leading provider of mission-critical cloud and network infrastructure software for the reliable and secure management of DNS, DHCP, and IP addresses (collectively known as DDI), today announced that it has acquired Men&Mice, which offers network management solutions. Regulators have approved the operation. Financial terms have not been disclosed.
Men&Mice's industry-renowned IP address orchestration and management (IPAM) solution, Micetro, reinforces BlueCat's position as the DDI industry leader and expands its mid-market product offering. BlueCat's enhanced portfolio addresses the complex requirements of multi-cloud, hybrid cloud and on-premises environments, which are critical to the transformation strategies of mid-market companies and enterprise organizations.
The worldwide demand for DDI management, which provides the basic services that direct traffic and enable communication across the network, has increased. A 2022 report from Future Marketing Insights projected that the global DDI market would grow 17% per year, to reach nearly $10 billion by 2032. Digital transformation initiatives are driving this demand as companies move applications to cloud and deploy infrastructure as code.
As different organizations evolve, many use an IPAM solution that also overlays heterogeneous DNS and DHCP solutions to gain visibility, management, and control of their on-premises and cloud environments. Research conducted in 2022 by Enterprise Management Associates revealed that a significant percentage of companies use an overlay strategy to manage DNS and DHCP servers from the IPAM environment.
“Regardless of your size or your phase of network modernization, BlueCat manages DDI solutions in a wide variety of environments, with advanced automation, analytics and security features to simplify network performance and management,” says Stephen Devito, CEO of BlueCat. “We welcome Men&Mice to the BlueCat family and look forward to the evolution of Micetro products. Men&Mice shares BlueCat's commitment to customer success and a culture of innovation."
"BlueCat is the right stepping stone for the continued growth of Men&Mice and the acquisition is recognition of the efforts of the employees who helped build and support Micetro, as well as the customers who invested in it," said Magnus Bjornsson, CEO of Men&Mice. . "We are committed to supporting our customers and look forward to creating more value in the marketplace."
