Anteriad Report Finds Data and Attribution Gaps in UK B2B Marketing

B2B marketers in the UK are reporting strong business results while facing pressure to prove that marketing investment is directly contributing to revenue. That tension is at the center of Anteriad's 2026 B2B Marketing Edge: UK and EMEA, which examines how marketers are using data, measurement and campaign optimization to support growth.

The report is based on Anteriad and Ascend2 research of 631 B2B marketing decision-makers across the United States, United Kingdom and APAC, with the UK findings used to provide a regional view. Anteriad says 70% of UK respondents received a marketing budget increase for 2026, although the company's UK analysis indicates that budget growth has not necessarily matched organizational growth.

The central issue is therefore not simply whether marketing teams are generating results. It is whether they have the data infrastructure and measurement models needed to demonstrate those results to finance and executive leadership.

Anteriad's research identifies three areas where UK B2B marketers can improve: buying-group strategies, continuous campaign optimization and revenue-linked attribution.

Only 35% of UK respondents in the supplied survey findings said they had implemented buying groups. Buying-group marketing moves beyond targeting an individual lead by identifying the multiple stakeholders involved in a B2B purchasing decision. That approach increasingly matters as enterprise purchases involve longer cycles, multiple decision-makers and greater scrutiny over spending.

Anteriad has invested in this area itself. Its Marketing Cloud includes AI-driven Buying Group Profiles designed to identify, assemble and activate stakeholders using B2B data, behavioral signals and intent information. The company received a 5-out-of-5 score for buying-group detail in the Forrester Wave: Marketing and Sales Data Providers for B2B, Q1 2026.

The second gap is campaign optimization. According to the supplied UK findings, 49% of marketers update campaigns across channels only occasionally based on performance data, while 38% say they do so frequently. The distinction is important as B2B campaigns increasingly run across search, social, content syndication, programmatic media and other channels.

Continuous optimization requires more than campaign dashboards. Marketing teams need current performance data, comparable metrics and the ability to connect changes in audience behavior with pipeline outcomes. Anteriad's platform provides campaign analytics, real-time reporting and audience activation capabilities intended to support that workflow.

Attribution represents the third challenge. Only 34% of UK marketers in the supplied research were classified as "Data Heroes"—marketers who agreed their data was proven in pipeline. Without a defensible connection between marketing activity and revenue, budget discussions can become dependent on channel metrics rather than business outcomes.

That issue extends beyond the UK. Anteriad's broader 2026 study found that 40% of surveyed B2B marketers across the US, UK and APAC said they were using the right data to convert audiences and that the data was proven in their pipeline.

The broader market is moving in the same direction. Gartner's 2026 CMO Spend Survey found that CMOs allocated 15.3% of marketing budgets to AI, while only 30% of organizations were ready to scale AI capabilities. That gap highlights a recurring enterprise problem: adding AI to marketing workflows does not automatically solve underlying data, attribution or integration issues.

For B2B marketing leaders, Anteriad's findings point toward a more foundational technology priority. Better AI and campaign automation depend on reliable audience data, buying-group visibility and measurement that can follow marketing activity through the revenue cycle.

Market Landscape

B2B marketing technology is increasingly shifting from lead-centric execution toward account, buying-group and revenue-centric strategies. Platforms now combine audience data, intent signals, campaign activation, analytics and attribution to give marketers a broader view of the buying process.

Anteriad competes in this market alongside B2B data, ABM, demand-generation and marketing intelligence providers. Its positioning combines proprietary B2B data with campaign activation and analytics, while its Marketing Cloud also supports buying-group profiling and cross-channel execution.

The competitive pressure is being amplified by AI-powered search. Forrester's 2026 intent-data research identifies AI-powered, zero-click search as a major disruptor because buyers are increasingly conducting early research through LLM-powered answer engines. This makes accurate first-party and third-party B2B data more important for understanding demand that may never produce a traditional search click.

Strategic Outlook

The next phase of B2B MarTech is likely to focus on proving the relationship between audience intelligence, campaign activity and revenue. AI can accelerate targeting, optimization and analysis, but those capabilities remain dependent on the quality and completeness of the underlying data.

For enterprise marketing teams, the practical implication is a shift from measuring individual campaigns toward building a connected measurement framework. Buying-group coverage, continuous optimization and full-funnel attribution can help marketers explain not just what happened in a campaign, but how marketing activity contributed to pipeline and revenue.

Anteriad's research also suggests that budget growth alone is not enough. As marketing organizations face greater pressure to justify investment, the ability to connect data and outcomes becomes part of the technology infrastructure required to maintain executive credibility.
