AARAV Fragrances and Flavors Pvt. Ltd. has launched AARAV Intelligence, an intelligence capability aimed at bringing consumer research, market intelligence and trend analysis closer to fragrance and flavor product development for FMCG brands.
The offering combines AARAV’s existing research and industry intelligence with AI-powered consumer research provided through Flickly, an AI-powered consumer research platform. The partnership gives brands a faster way to test concepts, packaging, preferences and category-specific questions during product development.
AARAV Intelligence is designed to cover multiple stages of fragrance and flavor innovation, from early concept validation through post-development evaluation. Research can examine fragrance and flavor preferences, product concepts, packaging, naming, usage occasions, purchasing drivers, price segments, premiumisation and consumer groups.
The approach positions rapid consumer research between informal feedback and more extensive traditional market research. For FMCG companies, that creates an additional mechanism for answering focused innovation questions before development decisions are finalized.
The capability can also complement existing Consumer and Market Insights teams at larger organizations. For emerging and mid-sized brands, AARAV positions the service as a way to incorporate structured consumer research into product development without making it a separate, large-scale research exercise.
The more significant aspect of the launch is the connection between research outputs and AARAV’s fragrance and flavor development capabilities.
Consumer findings and market or trend signals can inform briefs for perfumers, flavorists and product development teams. In theory, this shortens the distance between identifying consumer preferences and translating those findings into product concepts.
This reflects a broader shift in FMCG innovation toward more iterative, data-informed development. AI-powered research tools are increasingly being used to accelerate consumer feedback, although their effectiveness ultimately depends on research design, respondent quality and how organizations integrate findings into broader product and market decisions.
FMCG brands operate in categories where relatively subtle changes in consumer preferences can influence product positioning, packaging and sensory choices. Traditional research remains important for larger strategic questions, while faster research methods can be useful for testing specific hypotheses during development.
AARAV’s model therefore sits at the intersection of consumer intelligence, AI-enabled research and product innovation, rather than functioning solely as a standalone research platform. Its differentiation will depend on how effectively research insights translate into commercially relevant fragrance and flavor decisions.
AARAV Intelligence signals a move toward embedding consumer intelligence earlier in the innovation workflow. The model could help development teams test assumptions before committing resources to concepts, while giving established insights functions an additional agile research layer.
Its longer-term value will depend on the quality and applicability of the insights generated and how consistently those insights influence actual product development.
