QWEEN has partnered with Perfect Corp. to introduce a 3D jewellery virtual try-on experience across its digital platform, allowing Indian shoppers to view rings, earrings and bracelets on themselves in real time before making a purchase.
The implementation uses Perfect Corp.'s Web Consultation Mode for Jewellery and is designed to address a persistent challenge in online luxury commerce: customers can see a product through photographs but may struggle to understand its scale, movement, colour and material finish on their own appearance.
For a high-consideration category such as jewellery, that gap can influence how confidently consumers move from product discovery to purchase.
QWEEN's implementation supports up to 2,300 Virtual Try-On-enabled SKUs, according to the companies. The experience is integrated into the brand's website and mobile web environment rather than requiring shoppers to move to a separate application.
The technology uses physically based rendering (PBR) to reproduce material characteristics such as textures, reflections and light behavior. This is particularly relevant for QWEEN's assortment, which includes natural diamonds, gemstones and seven colours of gold.
Rather than positioning augmented reality solely as an engagement feature, the deployment makes visualization part of the product-discovery journey. Shoppers can interact with jewellery while evaluating how individual pieces complement their appearance and personal style.
That creates a closer connection between digital merchandising and customer experience. For marketers, the objective is not simply to generate an immersive interaction, but to provide additional information at a point where uncertainty can affect conversion.
Another component of the partnership is Perfect Corp.'s 3D Authoring Tool. QWEEN's team can upload industry-standard 3D files and product imagery, apply material textures and preview renderings through the company's console.
This self-service approach could become important as digital retailers expand the number of products available through virtual experiences. Creating individual 3D assets manually can introduce production dependencies, while a self-service workflow gives merchandising teams greater control over how products are prepared for digital channels.
For QWEEN, the ability to add new designs as collections expand also links virtual try-on with broader digital merchandising operations.
Jewellery purchasing involves aesthetic preference as well as confidence in how an item will appear when worn. Static photography provides limited information about how a product interacts with an individual shopper.
Virtual try-on attempts to reduce that uncertainty by allowing consumers to visualize products directly on themselves. In this context, AR becomes part of the customer journey rather than an isolated marketing campaign.
The move also reflects a wider evolution in e-commerce, where brands are using AI, augmented reality and 3D visualization to bring elements of physical shopping into digital environments.
AI-powered visual commerce is expanding across beauty, fashion, eyewear, accessories and jewellery. The competitive focus is increasingly moving beyond simple image generation toward experiences that connect product visualization with merchandising, personalization and purchasing decisions.
For luxury brands, realism can be particularly important because customers are evaluating details such as material, colour, finish and proportions.
The QWEEN deployment highlights how virtual try-on can become part of a scalable digital commerce strategy. Its long-term value will depend on factors including product coverage, rendering quality, ease of use and whether shoppers find the experience useful enough to influence consideration and purchase.
For marketers, the broader opportunity is to use immersive technology to answer practical customer questions while maintaining a consistent brand experience across digital channels.
