Demandbase Launches Three AI Agents to Expand B2A Marketing

As AI assistants increasingly influence how businesses research vendors and evaluate software, B2B marketers face a new challenge: making their brands visible and credible to machines as well as human buyers. Demandbase is addressing that shift with three new AI agents for campaign optimization, audience management, and answer engine optimization (AEO). Announced at its GO conference in New York City, the tools extend the company's agentic marketing strategy toward business-to-agent (B2A) marketing, where AI-generated recommendations could shape which vendors enter a buyer's consideration set.

Demandbase has introduced three AI agents designed to help B2B marketing teams monitor brand visibility in AI assistants, improve campaign performance, and maintain target audiences as buying signals change.

The launch includes an AEO Agent, a Campaign Agent, and an Audience Agent. The tools build on Mojo, Demandbase's existing B2B marketing agent, and use the company's shared intelligence engine and headless architecture to connect AI capabilities with marketers' existing workflows.

AEO Agent Targets Brand Visibility in AI Search

The AEO Agent is the most direct response to the emerging business-to-agent marketing model. As buyers increasingly use conversational AI to research products and compare suppliers, marketers need to understand not only where their websites rank in traditional search results but also how AI systems describe and recommend their brands.

Demandbase says the new agent lets marketers compare brand representations across major AI assistants, examine visibility for relevant questions, and identify sources influencing AI-generated answers. It can also highlight outdated information and content gaps, then help teams activate campaigns intended to improve their positioning.

The company says its intelligence draws on a database covering more than 342 million contacts across 13 million companies. Demandbase also says marketers can identify anonymous AI-driven traffic at the account and contact levels to inform sales engagement.

These capabilities bring answer engine optimization closer to account-based marketing. Traditional AEO focuses on making content more likely to appear in AI-generated answers; Demandbase's approach connects that visibility analysis with buying-group intelligence and campaign activation.

However, visibility monitoring does not guarantee that an AI assistant will recommend a brand. Results can vary by model, query, available sources, and the context in which a buyer asks a question. The effectiveness of the agent will depend on how accurately it measures those differences and whether its recommendations lead to measurable pipeline improvements.

Campaign and Audience Agents Extend Automation

The Campaign Agent connects campaign activity with revenue objectives, identifies performance gaps, and recommends adjustments. It can coordinate with specialized agents to address problems across campaign planning and execution.

The Audience Agent focuses on building and maintaining audiences using ideal customer profiles, buying groups, and account activity. It can identify missing buying-group members and keep audiences updated for activation.

Together, the agents target two persistent B2B marketing challenges: coordinating campaigns with commercial outcomes and ensuring that targeting reflects the latest available account intelligence.

Demandbase positions the tools as complementary components of Mojo, which can develop campaign briefs, build audiences, and execute campaigns across connected marketing tools. The company says human marketers retain control while agents handle more repetitive operational work.

Headless Architecture Connects AI to Existing Workflows

Demandbase is also emphasizing a headless architecture that exposes its intelligence through APIs and Model Context Protocol (MCP) connections. This approach is intended to let teams access platform capabilities through compatible AI assistants, custom agents, and collaboration applications without constantly switching interfaces.

MCP is an open protocol that standardizes how AI applications connect to external tools and data sources.

For enterprise marketing teams, that can simplify how specialized capabilities are incorporated into broader workflows, although compatibility, authentication, and governance still need to be evaluated.

The company's Marketing Brain sits beneath the agents, combining Demandbase's accumulated B2B expertise with customer-specific business context. Demandbase says the shared engine learns from interactions and outcomes to improve the agents' performance. The company has not provided independent benchmarks demonstrating the extent of those improvements.

Market Landscape

Demandbase's launch comes as account-based marketing platforms expand from identifying target accounts toward orchestrating AI-assisted marketing activities. Competitors including 6sense and Salesforce also operate in the broader market for account intelligence, predictive insights, and AI-supported revenue workflows. Demandbase's emphasis on AEO and headless access gives the announcement a distinct angle: connecting brand visibility in AI-generated answers with buying-group intelligence and campaign execution.

The opportunity is significant if AI agents become a routine starting point for B2B vendor discovery. Gartner has been cited as forecasting that 90% of B2B buying will be intermediated by AI agents by 2028, representing more than $15 trillion in enterprise spending. That projection is a forecast, not evidence that agent-mediated purchasing has already reached that scale.

For marketers, the implications extend beyond traditional SEO. Brands may need content that is accurate, authoritative, consistently represented across trusted sources, and easy for AI systems to interpret. AEO monitoring could help teams identify gaps, but performance should ultimately be measured through qualified engagement, pipeline contribution, and conversion outcomes—not visibility scores alone.

Strategic Outlook

Demandbase is betting that the next phase of B2B marketing will combine AI-driven discovery, account-level intelligence, and coordinated execution. Its three new agents bring those functions into a common framework, while MCP and APIs offer a route to working across existing enterprise tools.

The main question is whether the agents deliver measurable improvements beyond what marketers can achieve with existing analytics, automation, and AI assistants. Teams evaluating the platform should look for transparent reporting, reliable attribution, explainable recommendations, and clear controls over campaign changes. As B2A marketing develops, the strongest systems are likely to be those that connect machine-readable brand information with credible evidence and measurable commercial results.
